Lake House Road Proposed Cycling Improvements

Closes 20 Aug 2021

Opened 12 Jul 2021

Overview

The Council is proposing to introduce cycling improvements on Lake House Road. The proposed improvements are preliminary measures and it is hoped that funding may be secured for future interventions such as improvements to assist pedestrians and cyclists at junctions in the area.

We are proposing to install a 1.5 metre wide mandatory cycle lane on Lake House Road and provide light segregation in the form of cycle lane delineators. The proposed cycling improvements also include the installation of shared used bus stop boarders at one bus stop on Lake House Road. These are sections of the cycle lane that are raised to footway level allowing cyclists to continue unimpeded by stationary buses whilst allowing passengers to access buses for boarding. The proposed cycling improvements are shown on Plan 1

The Metropolitan Police, London Fire Brigade, London Ambulance Services and Transport for London are being consulted on the proposals.

The proposed improvements to cycling facilities on Lake House Road are intended to provide a safer facility for cyclists and thus help to encourage cycling in the borough.
