Late Night Levy

Closed 11 Aug 2019

Opened 10 Jun 2019

Overview

The Council is consulting on a proposal to introduce a late night levy (LNL) on all licensed premises selling alcohol between midnight and 6am.

This would be an annual charge payable by licensed premises selling alcohol after midnight and before 6am and would be used towards the cost of late-night policing and clean-up.

Please read the document below for more information about the proposed scheme before you respond to this consultation.

Why We Are Consulting

The consultation is open to everyone, not just those directly affected by the proposed levy. We would like to hear the views of licence holders, businesses and residents.

After the consultation period, responses will be collated in a report to be considered by Full Council before deciding whether to introduce the Late Night Levy.

This consultation was previously open from 21st February to 16th May. The consultation has been reopened for a further two months to allow additional responses.
