Closes 28 Jan 2020

Tell Us What You Think

1. The proposed new app will allow us to prioritise noise complaints to deal with the most severe cases first, rather than in the order they are made. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this approach?
2. If someone is found to be causing alarm, harassment or distress due to noise nuisance, the Council can take enforcement action including notices under the Environmental Protection Act 1990 and Ant Social Behaviour Crime and Policing Act 2014. This could include formal notices and Community Protection Notices and warnings. To what extent do you agree or disagree that tougher action should be taken against residents who cause alarm, harassment or distress due to noise nuisance?
3. The proposed new app allows residents to take an active role by recording noise issues to provide supporting evidence for their noise complaint. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this approach?
4. Do you support the Council’s overall proposal to use the proposed new app to report and record noise nuisance?
5. The Council accepts that not all residents have access to the suggested technology and I.T. systems, such as a smart phone. To help with this, the Council is proposing to loan out the equipment to those residents who are subjected to the most severe cases. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this approach?
