Woodford East: Parking Consultation

Closed 19 Jul 2019

Opened 4 Jun 2019

Parking in residential roads in the Woodford East area is becoming increasingly difficult as a result of commuter parking, population growth and increasing levels of car ownership.  In response to numerous requests, together with a signed petition, the Council conducted a parking consultation in January 2019 with properties around West Grove.

The majority of respondents to that consultation supported the introduction of permit parking controls, operational from 8.30am to 6.30pm, Monday to Friday.  It has therefore been agreed that such controls will be introduced in the West Grove area.

Why We Are Consulting

During the last parking consultation held around West Grove, we also heard from other residents asking that permit parking be considered in the surrounding area.  Likewise, we have found that any surrounding roads that do not have permit parking controls will experience parking displacement from any areas where controls have been introduced.

Therefore, in light of the parking controls agreed in the West Grove area, we feel that it is fair that those living or working in the surrounding area are also given the opportunity to have a say on permit parking in their road.

If this applies to you, then we want to hear from you by completing the following questionnaire.
