This consultationsets out details of a proposal relating to the establishment of an Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Additionally Resourced Provision (ARP) at Mayespark Primary School, for pupils with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).
Mayespark Primary School is a four form entry (4FE) Community Primary School, which accommodates children from Year R to Year 6. The school has a Published Admission Number (PAN) of 120 (reducing to 90 from September 2020) and admits up to this number each year into its Year R, giving an overall capacity of 420 places for mainstream pupils.
The London Borough of Redbridge is proposing to establish an ASD ARP at Mayespark Primary School for 12 additional pupils with an EHCP, across Year Groups 1 to 6 (2 places in each year group).
We would like to know what the community thinks about this proposal. The document below sets the proposal out in more detail.
Below is a copy of the Statutory Notice.
This is a statutory consultation on a school organisation proposal, the relevant guidance for which can be located at the following link: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/school-organisation-maintained-schools.
The national guidance states an expectation that consultation should last 4 weeks and this principle is applied here, in line with standard practice.
We are going to hold a public meeting where you can express your views, obtain more information and have your questions answered. The details of the meeting are as follows:
Mayespark Primary School Goodmayes Lane, Goodmayes, Ilford IG3 9PX on Thursday 26 September 2019 at 6:00pm
Following the completion of the consultation period, the decision on whether to formally approve the proposal will be referred to the Cabinet in November 2019. The outcome of the consultation process and the decision taken will be published on the Council website:
http://moderngov.redbridge.gov.uk/ieListMeetings.aspx?CommitteeId=267
The responses received as part of the current consultation exercise will be collated and fed into the decision making process. Should it be decided to proceed, the intention would be to implement the proposal for September 2020.
