Repairs contract for Council tenants and leaseholders

Overview

The day-to-day maintenance contract, currently with Morrison, is due to be re-tendered. There may be one or two contracts covering all our homes and estates. The new contract(s) will be for seven years, starting in April 2021. In addition to internal repairs for tenants, they are also likely to include:

  • Repairs, redecoration and maintenance of external and internal communal areas
  • Fire safety works
  • Outbuildings and garages
  • Communal electrical repairs
  • Environmental improvements
  • Boundary walls and fencing
  • Energy efficiency works
  • Out-of-hours emergency repairs

Why We Are Consulting

We want to consult with you as our tenants and leaseholders, to find out your views about this. Your comments will be taken into account when awarding the new contract(s).

This consultation is being done in line with our obligations to you under s105 of the Housing Act 1985 (for tenants) and s151 of the Commonhold & Leasehold Reform Act 2002 (for leaseholders).

The consultation period will end on 5 June 2020. We will write to you after this with the results of the consultation.
