Care Leavers Consultation

Closed 7 May 2019

Opened 12 Feb 2019

The Local Offer is our commitment to our Care Leavers.  It outlines what Care Leavers can reasonably expect from the Council and local services.

Why we are consulting

London Borough of Redbridge, in conjunction with Barnado’s, are keen to find out people’s views on entitlements and support for care leavers, as well as to shape the Local Offer for care leavers.

The consultation is looking at the following areas:

  • Support for Care Leaves who embark on Higher Education.
  • The financial entitlements for care leavers in 2020/2021
  • The information required by Care Leavers in the Local Offer.

This online questionnaire forms part of our consultation. We are also holding four focus groups for Care Leavers on 19th and 20th February. If you are a care leaver and would like to attend one of these focus groups, please email or contact Rachel Bywater on 07803 438204.

The questionnaire is available for 12 weeks. The results of the survey and the views gathered in the focus group will inform the recommendations which will be presented to Cabinet later this year.

Thank you for your interest in this survey and we look forward to your responses.

What happens next

The results from this survey and the focus groups will be collated and will form the recommendations to Cabinet in October 2019. Any agreed recommendations will be implemented from April 2020. The Cabinet paper will be available on Redbridge Council's website one week prior to the meeting.
