What is Lifeline?

Lifeline is a personalised alarm system which offers remote care and support to people living alone. At the touch of an alarm, individuals can call for help if they fall or become ill. Currently, customers pay a weekly monitoring fee so that they can access 24/7 support from the Lifeline call centre.

What are the proposed changes?

We are proposing a flat rate of £4.50 per week for monitoring costs. This will be a saving for most customers; however, this will be an increase in cost for customers who currently receive the service for free (due to receiving financial support), or via Millbrook Healthcare.

For those who may be unable to afford this weekly cost, please do not worry – there will be the option to carry out a financial assessment to assess how much you have to pay.

What are the benefits of using Lifeline?

Lifeline provides reassurance and support for individuals who live alone. It also allows people to stay at home and to remain independent for as long as possible.

By 2025, we need to replace all of our existing Lifeline technology due to a national switchover from analogue phone lines to digital. We will be replacing current technology to make sure you have new equipment which is best suited to your needs.
