Consultation to Relocate Seven Kings Library to a planned new Seven Kings Community and Health Hub

Overview

We are proposing to relocate Seven Kings Library to a new Community and Health Hub in Seven Kings. This will start to be built in 2023 and we estimate completion in 2026. To find out more about Community Hubs please visit our engagement site.

What is happening?

• The Council is planning to deliver new community hubs across the borough, with the first Community Hub being built on Seven Kings High Road. This hub will serve residents living in Seven Kings, Goodmayes, Chadwell, Newbury and Mayfield wards.
• The community hub will be built on a site currently used as a car and lorry park on the Seven Kings High Road, IG3 8RH.
• We have worked with local residents since 2019 to develop plans that were approved by the Cabinet in February 2021.  
• Now we are consulting to learn more about how the move will affect those using Seven Kings Library. 

We want to know if you feel moving the services and activities in Seven Kings Library will have a positive or negative impact, and why. If you have ideas about how we can reduce any negative impact or increase the positive impact, we would love to hear them. Your feedback will be used to inform the next stage of the process. 

What is a community hub?

• A hub is a building that provides a variety of services and activities to serve the local community. It is open and accessible to all with local people making decisions about the way the building is run and managed. Seven Kings Library is among many other community services that will be delivered from the hub.
